Quick Time issues…..?
Using Vista w/Mozilla. When ever I click on a link. Specifically to download a mp3 for a podcast, Quick Time will automatically open up the Quick Time player and start to play the file instead of downloading it like I would like it to do. I have to keep Quick Time to run ITunes and I’m getting tired of removing and installing Quick Time just to download files. I have changed all the settings in Quick Time but nothing helps? Any suggestions?
Try rightclicking on the link for the mp3 then see if a “save file as” option comes up. That should let you download it.
Or you could try making sure Quicktime is NOT associated with mp3 files by:
1. rightclick the quicktime icon in your system tray
2. select Quicktime preferences
3. click on the “browser” tab
4. Near the bottom should be a button that says “file types” click on this button
5. Scroll down and try to find .mp3 and make sure the checkbox is unchecked.
Or run another program that plays mp3 and associate that program instead with mp3′s. Or in Vista, you can go to Control Panel, then Default Programs to change settings for which program opens mp3′s.
