What is the standard sampling rate for an MP3 file?
I’m using the evaluation version of the GoldWave audio editing software. Normally, I just use it to convert audio files into a format I can use in the game Team Fortress 2 over the built-in VOiP channel using third-party software. However, to do this, I have to set the sampling rate at no more or less than 11025. I’ve been using goldwave in such a way for a few months now, and I’ve found myself forgetting the standard sampling rate for an MP3 file to be played using a personal music player rather than TF2. The reason this is an issue is that 11025 is far below the standard sampling rate, and lowers the quality noticeably. In a game like Team Fortress 2, this isn’t a problem because of the noisy environment; but when playing music for personal enjoyment, this can pose issues including poor quality, choppy playback, and compatibility issues on lower-end devices. For reference, my MP3 player is an Archos Gmini XS 100 Model XS10D.
