sony ericsson w580i!! help?
ok, so i just got this new cell phone. it came with a USB cord. i connected it to the compute, downloaded the software, and all that other good stuff. After i sent a few songs to my phone [MP3 format], i wanted to use one of them as a ringtone.
my phone wouldn’t let me-_________-
is there anything i can do about this?
somehow..i dunno, change the format, or SOMETHING.
what could i do with the file to be able to use it as a ringtone?

Yeah. I used to have the very same problem when i first got the phone. I’m assuming you have the AT&T model; apparently the software that they use makes it so that your ringtones have to be 30 seconds and under to be used. =[ It’s a sad fact, but you can download freeware programs (I recommend Audacity with the LameMP3 encoder. You’ll find both in the link in source) and cut sections of the song yourself to use as a ringtone.
