Samsung YP-Z5 mp3 player problems.?
I have recently purchased the Samsung YP-Z5 mp3 player. When I plug it into my computer using the USB cable supplied the computer recognises it as an MPT device but then asks for a driver but Samsung say that this product doesn’t require a driver. I checked in the device manager and it is shown but has an exclamation mark next to it. Has anyone else had similar problems and know a way to fix it? I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and have USB 2.0 (meets all the requirements).
xp is a bit of an idiot.
it should see your player as a removable hdd.
if it’s giving the yellow !
it most likely is saying it’s an unsigned driver that it “doesn’t trust”.
xp doesn’t trust anything that wasn’t written by microsoft.
remove all the drivers.
power down the pc and the player, connect the usb lead to both ends, fire up the player then the pc.
it really should find it without the drivers.
Xp, it’s just NT with an identity crisis.
