i was listening to rockmetal.. a little bit too loud.?
I was listening to rockmetal on my computer, cheapy mp3, and then my psp, FULL BLAST! (and you know how loud that can get, especialy being in the rock and metal genre).
My hearing ability is still functioning right, but my right ear hurts alot (kind of like i got water stuck in it, kind of irratating).
My left ear is fine though..
I need HELP! People… what’s going to happen to my overall hearing level? am i going to go deaf in my right ear? am i going to be OK?? honest. please tell me what’ll happen, and if there is anything i can do to speed up the recovery process!? thanks.
There’s really not much you can do for your ear discomfort, but you can try an over-the-counter pain medicine (as directed) and maybe a warm pack. You’ll probably be alright in a day or two, and you won’t go deaf from this one experience.
However, listening to loud music often can damage your hearing.
You’ve got some tiny bones in your ears that vibrate and cause vibrations on the eardrum, which is how you hear. Listening to loud music or anything loud causes more vigorous vibrations, and after some time, a substance forms over the irritated bones and it prevents them from conducting vibrations as well. This is how people lose their hearing over time and as they age, but the process is sped up if you have your music too loud.
