mp3 xmms
How can I play MP3 files under Linux?

Besides xmms, is there any other free software available? Thanks!

There are a number of good players. I use Amarok, which works really well for my purposes. Some prefer Kaffeine or VLC.

If you want a good distro that does multimedia right out of the box, try PCLinuxOS. I stopped looking for the best distro when I found it.
