What makes iPod skip certain songs automatically?
My classic video iPod keeps skipping specific mp3 files and can’t understand why. The skip will occur anywhere from 1 sec. to 4 min. into the song. Yet the time elapsed on the screen indicates the entire length of the mp3 file. At a given point it will skip to next song.
These “partially skipped” mp3s play just fine in iTunes or in Quicktime player so what’s the matter with the iPod? It happens to 1 out of every 10 songs. Doesn’t apply to all songs off one album but rather seems to affect random songs. Any clues before I venture to the iMac store?
It has happened to mine too, but not nearly as much. As far as I can tell, it’s something to do with the ipod reading the hard drive (like maybe it’s scratched or something). Not really sure what to do about it, but if it’s still under warranty they should fix it for free.
