Is it illegal to copy songs from a CD onto your mp3 player?
I think that would normally be illegal, but I’m not sure about the details. I can’t find any site that has a legal mp3 download for the songs I’m looking for, but I already have the CD with them on it. Would it be legal if I changed it to mp3 format to put on my mp3 player, if I didn’t upload it or share it in any way?
Like most of the posts have stated, what you are asking is legal, as long as you bought the CD legally for yourself.
The “use” laws allow you make a copy for your OWN use,
you just can’t sell it, OR give it away,
that is when you would be crossing the line
I buy CD’s too
(They DO sound better)
and make a copy for my self, then store the original,
this way, if it gets damaged or scratched, I can just go back to the original again.
