Need help using Python to make a playlist.?
I’ve begun to play with python a little bit. I’m just starting and my only previous experience with programming consists of a small amount qbasic, and batch and shell scripts. Well my friend has set me up an account on his server, and I’ve started uploading various files that I would like ssh or ftp access to. So when I started uploading my music and such, it got me thinking of streaming, which eventually led to me manually making a playlist file that i could run through VLC. The problem quickly arises when large amounts of files are added and the playlist must be updated manually. So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to experiment with using Python practically.
All I really need is to find the paths of files arranged /”artist”/”album”/”files”.mp3/, prepend the web address to the paths ie: http: //server.host.blah/music/artist/album/file.mp3, and print them to a file: playlist.pls.
I dont know how to find the paths recursively. Any help is much appreciated.
