Yep, you could replace your mp3 player with a walkman phone. I did. I’ve not touched my Ipod since.
Whoever said the sound quality was rubbish…you know nothing. The earphones you get with Sony phones are actually pretty good. They have gromits for noise cancelling, and the point about gold plugs is also useless. The measure of a good connection is it’s purity and how little oxygen is contained within the metal, so if the gold is of a poor standard then it won’t sound any better.
The biggest factor of sound quality is the compression technique and bitrate. For listening on a walkman phone I’d recommend a bitrate of 160kb/s. Oh and get a bigger memory card. Ive got 4gig in mine and I’m only just getting bored of the tracks after 5 months…
