How can I transfer songs I have purchased from iTunes onto my Sony NWS Mp3 player?
I have purchased and downloaded songs on iTunes, but I want to play them on my Sony NWS music player. The files that are downloaded from iTunes come in .M4p format (not Mp4, Mp3 etc), and my Sony Sonicstage software won’t accept them as a file type to transfer.
How can I go about converting these to a format that I can transfer to my Mp3 player, without it being blocked? It seems very unfair that I would have to play iTunes downloads on my iPod.

at least that’s the standard response.
You have a few options.
1. decide that you own the songs and download copies from a p2p service like limewire and put those on your mp3 player instead.
2. decide you own the songs and download a programme for taking out the drm from the m4p itunes files you bought.
3. buy an ipod.
the digital rights management (DRM) is a pain and means you don’t really own the song but rather have permission to use it in the way apple and the record company tell you. it can be bypassed and if you google DRM or DRM removal you will get some sites dedicated to it.
I can tell you how to do it on a mac but not a pc.
The easiest way would be to burn the songs to an audio dics and then import as mp3 using itunes. it takes a while but is the easiest way to bypass the drm. you can then put the mp3s onto your mp3 player
