Why won’t WMP recognize my mp3 player?
Ok i have a sandisk sansa mp3 player that holds about 200 songs and a micro chip thingy inside it that i bought that holds about 100 songs. I got a new computer a few months ago and when i plug in my mp3 player it doesn’t charge all the way so i formatted my mp3 player to see if that’ll help any. Now when i plug it into my computer windows media player won’t recognize my mp3 player and when i go to start>computer and click portable devices it only show the micro chip internal memory and not the mp3 player itself. The same with windows media player it’ll only recognize that micro chip and not the mp3 player itself. Now i could only get like 190 songs on there when before i had a little over 300 songs. Does anyone get what i mean? Does anyone know how to fix this problem. Thanks
I’m sorry to say that I don’t know how to fix it, but I might be able to explain why this happened.
When you format an mp3 player, that deletes not only songs, but sometimes also memory that isn’t absolutely necessary to the mp3, or that it doesn’t recognize as important. My guess is that this is what happened, and that the driver program on the mp3 player was accidentally formatted along with everything else. What I would suggest doing is going to sandisk’s website and seeing if you can download the driver, and find the location in “My Computer” of the mp3 player, copying and pasting the driver and it’s other programs onto the actual physical memory, which I believe you don’t actually need the driver for. But the first thing you should do is definitely to go to sandisk’s website, without a doubt.
The second best thing to do in this situation is to go on the website and instead of trying to figure that out if this isn’t your kind of thing would be to hit the “Support” button, or “Contact us”.
