I’m not sure what your asking if your try to separate vocals from music you can’t w/ audacity…if your trying to isolate a section of music like making a ringtone or you just want as certain section you have to make sure you have download the mp3 plug in http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ save to audacity file…unzip then go to edit preferences find library select the lame file open then selection the part you want to make a mp3 then file selection mp3 save then ok…
