mp3 player?
I’m going to be installing a new head unit for my car. I know all of the new ones come with aux. jacks, and most are mp3 compatible. My question is, could I just buy a cheap $25 mp3 player and play it through my head unit? I think you just plug a cable in from the headphone jack to the aux. input on the unit, right? Also, if the head unit says it’s mp3 capable, will the song titles/artists appear on the display when playing music from the mp3 player?
That way works very well. My last one though didn’t read the track data.
I found a better way for that. If you look for a unit with a USB input, it will read the track data. I got a Clarion DXZ775USB and I love it. It’s cheaper for the storage media too. I got a 8 gigabyte flash drive for $20, from http;//www.newegg.com and threw all of my music on it. I no longer have any of the CDs floating around my car.
