and also, for watching movies and listening Mp3 files, does the console not need a software as well ? If i put Mp3 files on a memory card and put the card in a Supercard and insert it into the Ds Lite, how would the Mp3 get played ? Where does the Ds Lite get the software to read and playback the Mp3 files ?
many thanks
I have had all these Supercard before, these Supercards are all the same except for the size.
They all fit into the GBA Slot 2 of the DS. The larger ones take SD cards, the medium size ones take MiniSD and the smallest one takes MicroSD cards (probably the best for the DS Lite but will not fit the larger DS). They also come in ‘rumble’ versions which are cheaper but will not support GBA games – which I assume is important for you.
If GBA support is not important, I suggest a Supercard DS ONE which is a Slot 1 solution using MicroSD cards. This is a much smaller and elegant solution and does not require a seperate ‘Pass-through’ (see below).
To use any of the Slot 2 cards you have listed, you will need either a modified DS or a ‘Pass-through’ Slot 1 cartridge to bypass security features of the DS and allow the console to read games data from Slot 2 and run it as if it were from Slot 1 (basically DS games).
The Supercards hold their firmware on the Mini/Micro/SD cards, data is also stored there (like JPEGs, MP3s, text files, Homebrew and DS games etc.) Supercard also supply and run the application called “MoonShell” which will play your videos etc.
Hope this helps.
Some cool forum/internet st00f!
