I have a problem importing mp3 tracks to Auadacity portable?
I recently downloaded the program Audacity portable and of course ran into a problem right off the bat. Whenever I import an audio file, it plays a 3 second scratching sound, not the actual song. All the mp3s I’ve tried importing are .wma files. How do I fix this?
(I’m not exactly an expert with this so I’d prefer if you try to describe it in as many layman’s terms as possible)

A wma file is not an mp3.
Dogs and cats are animals, wma and mp3 files are compressed file formats but that’s where the similarity ends.
Audacity does not recognize or play wma files.
They will need to be converted to mp3.
