How do you fix a cassette to computer recording sound problem?
I am trying to get the conversations that I record on my cassette to be made into mp3′s on my computer. I already have all of the hardware and software that I need.
My problem is that I will record say 2 minutes of me talking on my tape recorder. Then I will rewind and play back so that I know that it recorded it all. That all works fine. I plug my tape player headphone (out) into my computer microphone (in). I press record on the recording software, then play on the tape player. The problem is that the software will pick up the first 4-5 seconds of me talking, but then will not pick up any sound for the next 20-30 seconds. After the 20-30 seconds of silence, it will start picking up the sound again. So I am left with a 2 minute mp3 recording of myself that has a 20-30 second part right near the beginning that is silent. A little bit of talking before and a lot after. Why does it seem to die then come back to life 20 seconds later? And how do I fix it?
