Does https encrypt streaming mp3s?
I’d like to stream an mp3 that is hosted on a website with an SSL certificate installed. Users would stream the mp3 using a Flash player embedded into the page. During the streaming, would anyone be able to capture the mp3 stream and listen to it, or would the https encryption also apply to the streamed content? Thanks for your insight.
that depends on the flash player you’re using. if the mp3s are embedded in the flash player and you’re using https to grab the flash file, it’ll encrypt it. but if the flash player is grabbing the mp3s from another location, it won’t be encrypted unless the flash player is set to grab the mp3s from an https location.
