iPod sending mp3s under video category instead of music category?
My friend got a 80gb video iPod for Christmas, he wanted to fill it with the music from his audio CD collection and I offered to help him do this since he isn’t that great with computers. Ripping his CDs into mp3s went normally, next I downloaded a copy of iTunes 7.0.2.16 and imported all the new mp3 files into the music library. After that I updated the iPods firmware to the latest version when prompted to so by iTunes. I had him go through the library and un-check all the songs he didn’t want on the iPod and then synched the library with his iPod. Everything seemed to be fine when I tested it except that ALL the mp3s where on the iPod including the ones he had un-checked. I’m pretty sure everything was correctly under the music section of the iPod menu but he now claims its all under the video section.Question here is, why did it transfer ALL the songs in the library(including unchecked ones) and why is it listed under videos instead of music?Any help on this would be appreciated
its under a different category because you converted the files yourself, instead of itunes doing it for you. to import you cds into your ipod, all you have to do is insert the cd into you comp > wait til the comp and itunes reads the cd > then click import cd on the bottom right hand corner of itunes. once imported, the songs are already converted to mp3 files.
