Why am I getting an iTunes error message when trying to convert to AAC format?
Ever since last night, after adding mp3 files to my itunes library, whenever I try to convert any of them to AAC format, I get an error message that says iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. The error signature at the top says:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 4.7.1.30 ModName: quicktimeaudiosupport.qtx
ModVer: 7.6.1.0 Offset: 0007bf82
I’ve never had this problem before and it’s really frustrating. I know I have an outdated version but that’s never been a problem (my computer won’t let me upgrade my iTunes because of outdated ISS scripts or something).
If I leave the songs in mp3 format, will they still transfer to my iPod? And is there any way to solve my conversion problem?
iTunes has the AAC converter built in to convert wma files (files readable by windows media player and zunes), not mp3. mp3 files will work perfectly fine on your iPod. In fact, mp3′s tend to be better quality than AAC because iTunes only encodes their AAC files in 128kbps
