audio editors not working with vista.?
I’ve just bought a new laptop with windows vista basic installed and i’m having a problem with the audio. I cannot get any audio editing programs to work correctly like audacity. The software downloads fine and i can play files stored in my music folder and convert them to mp3 however when trying to record sounds no sound is recording. I’ve tried several audio editors and have the same problem i cannot record anything, I never had this problem with windows xp and the programs such as audacity are vista compatable so why isn’t it working?
Make sure you have an audio input device, such as a microphone, connected to your computer
To adjust the Audio settings for recorded audio, do the following:
1 Click Start, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Manage audio devices.
2 Click the audio device you use to record sound, and then click Properties.
3 select the audio device and input source(that is microphone)
4 Click the Levels tab, drag the volume slider to increase the volume, and then click OK.
5 Start Sound Recorder,
still the problem is there ,update Ur software,
