MP3 or WMA: Which is a better sound quality?
I just bought my first portable music player. It plays both MP3 and WMA.
Now, I’m about to rip my cds to my computer, then put then on the player. But I would like to know which would be a better encoding media, mp3 or wma. (As I see Windows Media Player would rip in both.)
I’d probably rip both at 192 Kbps. Which one will sound better? MP3 or WMA. I’ve been google searching this a bit, but can only find old forum posts.
Does it matter what genre of music at all?
So your opinions, facts, and inputs on this will really help.
Also, if there is a better ripper than Windows Media Player 11, please tell me. (I mean, if another free program somehow rips them in a better sounding quality.)

in my opinion and personal experience with both Audio formats Mp3 sounds much better.
i like a wide range of music from Heavy metal – Dance music, i have never experienced problems with 1 Genre to another with Mp3
i have used WMA format but to be honest its not as good as Mp3 format.
