Why am I able to only upload MIDI as ring tones but not MP3?
I have a Sprint PCS Vision Phone A640 (Samsung). I bought a USB data cable that came with software. The software directed me to a site to download USB drivers for my computer to detect the USB data cable. I am able to download pictures to my computer, add/edit contacts, and even add specific MIDI files as ring tones. But I cannot upload MP3 using the PC Sync software. In the phone specifications it says it can take MP3 as ring tones am I doing something wrong?
Do you mean MP3 to wav and than back to MP3 again? Or just MP3 to wav and than upload Wav to phone?
you need to convert the file to a wave file i use wavepad for this, first select the clip of the song you want using wave pad then convert it to a wave file using the following settings, format pcm attributes 8.000 khz 16bit mono 15kb/sec, hit ok and choose a save name after converting it to an appropriate wave file u need to convert it to a qcp file open the qcp converter and dragging the song icon that was saved as a wav over the pvconv.exe. both the qcp converter and wave pad can be found at the following urls http://www.3gforfree.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=getit&lid=3

if this doesnt work i can assure you your phone will not support real ringtones but i’m pretty sure it does because my much older vi2300 did
