Sound is Working But Micropones arent (Windows XP)?

I use to record with MP3 Direct Cut… Worked fine… Now its stopped working… The thing is i dont think its the microphone cuz i have two and neither are working… plus the green lines that go up and down when you’re talking and moving… Voice wont be detected on Skpe either… I did the sound test in Control Panel and it wont hear me…
