mp3 player advice?
I want to buy a mp3 player and I was wondering which characteristics should I look for. I have ruled out the iPod option since I had one but I don’t like 1) the dependency on my iTunes library, which makes it difficult to get file from other people or when you are not with your computer anayway; 2) the dimensions.
I liked some other characteristics though. Most of all the possibility of subscribing to podcasts with just one click and the automatic update just plugging it in, and the fact that it remembered where I stopped listening when I switch it on again (whichis extremely useful when you are listening to a podcast or to an audiobook.
So my question is: can I get these two things (automatic ipod subscription + track of where I stopped) I liked with another mp3 player? Which would not be dependent on my iTunes library and which would be possible smaller?
Which would be the best given my requirements?
alright, well the zune has a very goof podcast integration, but it too is dependent on its software. well there are 3rd party softwares you can use but for the most part it is like the ipod in that respect.
no other mp3 player is well integrated with podcasting. other good mp3 players though that are very easy to upload your music on any computer are the creative player and sansa players. they may be able to keep up with podcast via 3rd party programs but they do natively sync with podcasts.
you can get the 8 gig 2nd gen zunes which are very small. i have an 80 which is a decent size, but still a little larger than the ipod videos. sansa and creative both have small mp3 player, they both only produce flash players now i believe. hope that helps a bit. if you really want podcasts then go with a 2nd gen zune.
