My computer wont read cd’s or cd-roms?
It’s a dell Windows XP
And just randomly like 3 months ago it stopped being able to play cds
And cd-Roms now i need to install a program for my mp3 player
Heres the MP3 Player

There’s a few things that could be wrong.
First, check to see if you need to download drivers to make your CD drive work with your system.
Second, if your computer won’t recognize it, the CD drive might be broken, or the connection inside the computer might be coming undone. If you know how, open your computer case and try pushing the wires in. (If you don’t know how to do this, don’t try. You can easily touch the wrong things and shock yourself and/or damage the internal components!!!)
If you still have a warranty on your computer, contact Dell and tell them the problem you’re having. Maybe they can give you a quick fix over the phone. If you’re not ready to open the computer yourself, you can also take it into a big chain store like Circuit City or Best Buy and leave it with them to fix for a price.
