Will Tesco take back my sons phone?
I bought him a nice mobile/mp3 player for his exam results, he got it wet yesterday when someone threw a water bomb at him. Its only partially working with very little sound.
I know its not Teso’s fault but I wondered if there was anyway that I could get it changed. A bit underhand I know but I cant afford a new one and its not covered by insurance.
Said son is beside himself…he was so proud of his phone. He doesnt know the guy who threw the water bomb and has never seen him before.
Sods law I suppose, he has only had really cheap phones so far so if they got lost or broken it wasnt so bad.
Do I do the decernt thing and put it down to bad luck and start saving for another one or try and take it back?
He is only 11 by the way so working isnt really an option.
As long as you have the receipt as proof of purchase, take the receipt and phone with the packaging to the customer service desk and tell them that you took it out of the box and it never worked properly to begin with. They should give you a replacement.
If the assistant behind the desk isnt helpful ask to speak to a manager, they are much more aware of the importance of happy customers.
