In search of a very decent Turntable?
if there are any LP and turntable afficionados that can offer any info in regards to finding a very good quality turntable for mp3/CD transfer, that would be great. i grew up with a Soundesign Record Player, 8 Track, Cassette, and Stereo System. i remember it working really well. i used it through my high school years (91-95). well, now i am very interested in transferring my LP’s to cd/mp3. are the brand new turntable’s made today any good for this? if there are any good one’s which one’s are they? or amy i just better off finding a 20-30 year old refurbished player to do the job? anyone any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. if anyone can offer their opinions on specific brands such as Technics, Onkyo, Pioneer, Audio-Technica, Sony etc., that would be awesome! thank you!
BTW, best quality for under $100
All i can recommend is to go with something that is belt driven. At under $100 your prospects are pretty limited. If you want a quality transfer you should expect to spend over $100 on the cartridge its self. Your best bet would be to go on craigslist and look for a deal. I bought a very nice table and cartridge a couple years ago for 1/10th of what it was worth.
