How do i add volume to the output of my mp3 player?
i want to be able to drive a 8ohm speaker since i like having music in the shower but my “creative zen” only drives earbuds…..i’ve been learning about transistors lately from a book and i know that they can act as amplifiers of a signal. it’s called magnitude?????? anyways is there a simple circuit using transistors that i can amplify the signal from my “headphone driver” in my zen so that it will be louder on my small speaker? (the speaker is an 8 ohm, 0.25 watt and is a 2″) i don’t want it to blow my ears but loud enough that you can hear it in a room.
also if there is an external power supply that drives the speaker is ok too. it doesn’t have to be from the mp3 player’s battery.
and please don’t tell me to go buy a water proof shower speaker music player thing. i like the feeling of building it myself.
Search google for “audio power amplifier schematic”, you will find hundreds. Select one that puts out 1 to 5 watts and looks simple.
