What is a good CD reciever for my sound system?
I have bought 4 200 Watt Car Speakers, a 1000 Watt 4 Channel Amplifier to power all of these, and I plan to get two 800 Watt 12 inch Pioneers with a 2 channel 1600 Watt Amp. My problem is I am trying to find the perfect CD/Mp3 Receiver that will allow me to utilize all of this equipment.
The Speakers impedance is 4 Ohms at 100 Watt RMS, and the amplifier RMS at 4 Ohms is 175Watts x 4 channels
I am still a “noob” to the whole Car Audio thing, but I think I have the basics down, and the only thing I need is too find the right
Cd/Mp3 receiver that will work the best for all of this.
My limit on an indash receiver is probably $300 so all of your insight will be greatly appreciated.
VERY IMPORTANT: I do not live in Pleasantville, Kentucky so a head unit that has a detachable face will be OH SO helpful.

Look for a head unit that has 5 or more preamp outputs. That way you will be able to utilize the fader on your 4 channel amp. The 5th or 5th & 6th preamp connections are for your sub amplifier. If you have these outputs most likely the head unit will offer some sub control ie…crossover freq, level etc.
Alpine makes quite a few of these in your price range. Pioneer, JVC and Clarion also.
