How can I make an MP3 file smaller?
I use a virtual sequencer called FL Studio to make music, and as my skill is growing and songs are progressing, the MP3 outputs are getting bigger and bigger. I just made a song that’s too big to post on my myspace, and I was wondering if there was any way to make it output a smaller file or just decrease it’s size somehow? Thanks in advance 
What is the size limit for posting? .
There should be an option to set the bitrate when exporting or rendering to mp3.
128 kbps is probably the best compromise compression ratio between file size and quality.
In broad terms a four minute track will be about 4.5 to 5 Mb in size @ 128 kbps.
You could use 112 or even 96 kbps if really pushed but 96 kbps is the absolute minimum.
I haven’t got it but if you can’t work out how to adjust the file size with FL Studio try this free app from Koyote Soft.
