HOW do you get music onto an mp3 phone?? (lets say..motorola mp3)?

I have music in my iTunes..
Do I just connect my mp3 phone to the computer, and transfer music files through where? My music folder in my computer? Or through iTunes?
And do I need internet, because my iTunes library is on a computer without internet.
