My brand new 8gb Zen Mozaic sometimes lags and “skips” in songs; what’s wrong and how can I fix it?
My mom just bought me a 8gb Zen Mozaic from the Creative website. It’s the EZ model, not the model advirtized that comes in white or pink other than black. The issue is, I’ll be playing a song, and it will stop for a millisecond and start again, and the scrolling letters on the song title will stop too, so it’s the whole player lagging. I heard this can happen when a player is old or dying, but this thing is brand new, it should be fine. Creative is my favorite player company. I was recently using a dinky zen v plus and I loved it. I don’t have money to buy a new Mozaic or a new player, but should I try to return it and get it replaced? Or can I fix it?
By the way, please don’t suggest something brash as getting an iPod or something. I don’t like iPods at all.
I bought my girlfriend the 16gb version of the Mozaic (the EZ100 model) and I get the same problem. It’s very annoying and seems to happen mainly on high bitrate songs.
I’ve searched for this on the web and others who have this problem suggest (a) Re-installing the firmware and / or (b) re-formatting the player.
I’ve tried both and still get the problem, perhaps it may work for you.
