How do you transfer media to an Xbox 360 hard drive?
What are all of the different methods of transferring pictures, videos, and music to a hard drive connected to an Xbox 360? Can you plug a USB flash drive into the Xbox 360 and copy it from there? For music, what kind of discs will work? Can I burn an MP3 CD and copy the music from that? Can I burn a bunch of MP3s to a re-writable CD and rip the music from that? Finally, when burning a CD, do I need to burn an audio/music CD or can I burn all of the music files to a (data) CD-R/CD+R?
I am not interested in streaming music from a PC or playing music by plugging an iPod into the system. Only getting the music and other media onto the (Xbox 360) hard drive to view and listen to.
The only way to save music to your hard drive, is to first burn it as an audio CD on your computer, then rip the audio tracks from the CD on the 360. Time consuming? Yes, but 360 doesn’t allow transferring files.
If you burn the disc in an MP3 or ‘file’ or ‘data’ format, then you can play the songs off the cd/dvd you burned, but you will not be able to save the songs to the 360 hard drive.
The only way to save a picture to your hard drive, (that I know of) is to stream a picture from a computer, and save it as your background. Even after you change your background back, the picture remains on hard drive. It’s not practical, but that’s how to get it there.
And of course movies need to be purchased and downloaded from xbox live marketplace to be saved on the hard drive.
