How can I convert a music file into an MP3 format with Windows Media Player?
I bought an MP3 player about a week ago. One of my friends told me that if all my music was in MP3 format, it wouldn’t take a lot of space. I remember asking a question simular to this one, I found out that, if a music file is opened with iTunes, I can convert it into MP3 format. And, I figured out on my own that if I right click on a music file that can only be opened with RealPlayer, go to “Open With” then to “iTunes” I can make it open with iTunes, instead. I tried to do that with a music file that can only be opened with Windows Media Player but it wouldn’t work. So, I was wondering if there is any way I can convert a music file that can only be opened with Windows Media Player into MP3 format or somehow, make it open with iTunes?
MP3 is actually much larger then most newer codecs. I would suggest using WMA or AAC. But if you want to convert a file, I don’t think it is possible in Windows media player, unless you re-rip your CDs.
