My computer won’t read any flash drives…?
I have three that i just tried (A SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB SDCZ6-4096RB [about 6 months old], A SanDisk Cruzer Micro 512 MB SD___-512 {I can’t read all the numbers its so old} [two years old], and a Lexar 256 MB JDSE256-00-500 [About a year old]. The first SanDisk in my work backup, the Second SanDisk is for my original pictures and things like that (I wasn’t quite smart enough to back it up), and the Lexar is my computer backup. It is imperative that i get these up and running by Wednesday for I have a large meeting i must prepare for. I have no other computers to check the actual Flash drives but I am confidant that the problem is with the USB port. Any one have any idea what so ever that i could use to fix this? Nor will it read my daughter’s Coby 1 GB MP300-1G MP3 player.
Boot up into Safe mode, go to device manager, and delete the USB ports. Reboot. Windows will install the devices when it comes back up. See if this will clean up your USB issues. If you’ve got a printer attached via USB, don’t delete that one, just the others.
