Question About Importing CDs and the quality of those songs!!! Please Help Me!!! Advanced Music People!!?
I understand that when you import a song into itunes, it scales down the quality of the song by making it an mp3 so that it takes up less space…well I don’t care about space so is there any way that I can keep the quality of the CD song (700someoddkpbs) and import the songs into my library…?
I can go into iTunes prefs and change stereo bit rate to 320kbps and then what do I change sample rate, channels to for best quality and should I turn VBR on??? Thanks in advance…first question is most important to me 
For the first question…do I change the type of “Encoder”…if so, then to what?! Thanks a lot!
Leave the sample rate on Auto. Set VBR on and put it to “highest”. It’s up to you whether to filter frequencies below 10hz or not. Some songs can be very quiet at times (Pink Floyd) and this filter can interfere with that. Most songs are recorded lounder and the frequency filter removes some of the noise.
Remember, recording CD’s at a larger bit rate will make your files rather large and this may become an issue if you have a smaller hard drive. For most people the standard sample rate of 128 is just fine. The only people I’ve known having an actual problem with it are jazz enthusiasts and such, but they pretty much buy vinal anyway.
