I have just bought a new car with a USB adapter to plug an mp3 player into the stereo, can I use an ipod?
When I plug the ipod in using its’ USB cable it says on the ipod screen “connected” but it charges it etc but I can’t listen to any tunes because I can’t access any controls on the actual ipod, screen just says connected.
Any way you can listen to songs while it is plugged in to the usb cabel? (It’s an 80gb ipod classic).

i know that bmws can come with usb but our daughter uses the aux cable for her ipod in her dad’s bmws. have you tried checking the entertainment settings on the car stereo as you may need to change them to usb.
