IM new to audacity and i have a problem converting the aup file to mp3. i searched and found that i need to use lame encoder. in one of the procedures it says that after i unzip the file i will have to save it anywer an locate it again. i did save it by opening the lame file as .txt and saving as a all files.. i dont know where i went wrong then after that, i went to audacity and wen i was locating the lame, it keeps on saying that the “could not open mp3 encoding library. need help please.
The file needs to be .dll not .txt extension. Lamenc.dll is what you need. I extracted Lamenc.dll into the folder of audacity so I could find it easily. Below is a link for Lamenc.dll for windows. When I extract the files myself, I just say extract files into a folder. The folder is usually named the same as the foldername you extract. I never rename files I extract, not sure where you got that info. The renaming is where you possible went wrong. When you open the file you should see Lamenc.dll Just thinking, you didn’t just rename the extension lamenc.zip to lamenc.txt ? Thats not extracting. Right click on the zip file and select extract to folder. Inside the folder is the correct file your after.
