Is it possible to modify the iPod ear buds (with remote/mic) with different buds?
Currently all the ipods that require the headphones with the mic/remote features built in are only compatible ones made by apple.
i find both the “in ear headphones” and the standard earbuds made by apple to be quite uncomfortable, andi would like a different bud.
Is there a way to say, take the apple earbuds off, and solder other buds on there, while still keeping the remote/mic capability?

There are a bunch of non-Apple made compatible headphones with mic out there.
Also, there are a bunch of adaptors, which include mic and you can plug any normal headphones into them.
